Adult Bible Studies

Currently, there are two regular Adult Bible study groups at First Lutheran.  All Adults, regardless of background, are welcome to participate. One group meets year-round on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel, led by a rotation of lay instructors.

The Tuesday AM Adult Study group meets at 9:00 a.m. each week. This group follows a hybrid format - meeting in-person and via Zoom. The Zoom link to join this class remotely is available upon request. Recent topics include: Reconciliation, Mormonism, the basic elements of the Lutheran liturgy, and the Intersection of Church and State.

Faith Foundations is an adult catechesis and information class designed to give new members, long-time Lutherans, and interested adults an opportunity to unpack the chief teachings of the Christian faith. Faith Foundations is offered quarterly or when there is enough interest. This class also follows a hybrid format - a Zoom link is available upon request. Watch our announcements, Weekly Update, and social media for the next Faith Foundations class!

New Adult Study Starting Tuesday, October 17th, 9 AM

“ ‘Be strong, all you people of the land,’ declares the LORD, ‘and work. For I am with you,’ declares the LORD Almighty…”

“ ‘And my Spirit remains among you.
Do not fear.’ ” (Haggai 2:4-5, NIV)

This was God’s promise to His people as they set out to rebuild the temple. It’s still His promise to us, as we build His church all over the earth. The new series starting on Tuesday October 17th is “Haggai: Building God's Church”.  In this four-part series, leader and communicator Dave Cornes challenges our priorities and spiritual apathy, reminding us that God has given us a purpose: to be part of the most magnificent building project imaginable, the church. Consider this a wakeup call. Allow the Holy Spirit to stir up your devotion to God’s work again. It’s not going to be easy, but He has given us everything we need, and we have nothing to fear. He is powerful. He is present. And He will build and bless His church.
