Youth Bible Study

Youth Bible Study meets every Sunday morning 10:15-11:30am in the church balcony. Led by Kelly Berg, the youth cover several different studies throughout the year, including books of the Bible, apologetics (sharing the faith with others), living out the faith, and wrestling with difficult topics.

First Lutheran emphasizes the importance of junior confirmation. Confirmation is an opportunity for youth to learn more about the Holy Scriptures, Luther's Small Catechism, and the Lutheran Christian faith. Various topics such as prayer, worship, evangelism, comparative religions and denominations, and church membership are also discussed. Junior Confirmation is an important link to faithful reception of the Lord's Supper.

Beginning for all new students (6th grade or older) in Fall 2023, First Lutheran will follow a three-year program. Year 1 will focus on biblical literacy, while Year 2 and Year 3 will unpack and apply Luther's Small Catechism and other important subjects. Junior Confirmation follows the academic calendar. For 2023-2024, students and parents will meet on Wednesday evenings, beginning in September. Year 1 meets at 4:30 and Year 2 and Year 3 students and parents meet at 6:00 pm.
